Breweries and beerbaths

In the Trollpeninsula one can find small but ambitious breweries. They are open up for visitors who can come to see and taste the production and get information about brewing techniques and more. One can also visit the Bjórböðin - Beerbaths and bathe in the beer but that is supposed to be very healthy for skin and hair.

We are a small family owned craft brewery located in fishing village of Siglufjörður, Iceland, my grandfather, my father and I, as well as the family helps out. The brewhouse is in an old fish factory that we have designed and adapted. Segull means magnet in Icelandic and we are connecting it to the magnet needle (magnetic noth) in the compass. The magnetic needle always turns north no matter where you are. 67 has long been a lucky numer in the family, my great grandfather drove his truck with the number F67 and my grandfather sailed the seas with the boat number SI67.

The brewhouse is in the old freezer , the tap room is were the fish was frozen into blocks and above all the fish processing where done. Now you take a brewery tour and taste craft beer at its best.

  • Beer baths

Iceland‘s first beer bath opened in June 2017.

In Bjórböðin you relax in a big tub, made of Kambala wood, filled with beer, water, yeast and hops.

It is available for people, one at a time, or two together. There is no age limit for the beer bath because the bathwater is undrinkable, but there is a beer draught at every tub for anybody over 20 years of age.
